I have an old Spectra Pro Model P-251 Light Meter that hasn't been used in 20 years. Needless to say it doesn't work now but I'm hoping it can be repaired. It's been well stored in the intervening years. Can anyone tell me where to send this old light meter for evaluation and (hopefully) for repair and calibration. I live reasonably close to NYC so this location would be optimal, but if it needs to be sent out west so be it. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Okay, I can now answer my own question. Spectra Tech Laboratories can sometimes repair the old Specta Pro Model P-251 Light Meters. This model of cine light meter was the professional standard for years until digital light meters started coming onto the scene. I've seen these old models selling occasionally on Ebay, usually with the warning that they no longer work. Soon I will send mine in for an estimate and hope that 1) it can be repaired and, 2) repair costs are far more economical than purchasing a new one. I used to use this meter eons ago with 16mm and it always yielded great results. As I begin experimenting with Super 8, I believe a recently calibrated cine light meter will work far better than the in-camera light meter of unknown accuracy (after so many years). Anyway, if anyone has a similar model that needs repair, you can send it to; Spectra Tech Laboratories, 3607 W. Magnolia Boulevard, Burbank CA 91505.
